The psychologists say that is the best way to examine someone's character and conscience. We asked several people about some of the surprising events they could go through in their lives.
1. What would you do if you found $100 000 in a bag in the street? Kenneth: Well, that's a hell of the question. As I am the student of law, my reason would probably tell me to take the bag to the police station. But, who can tell? Perhaps thirst for money would prevail and if no one was there, I would probably grab it and run as fast as I could. Donna: I really can't say for sure… If I had more time and space, I would count the money and take, for example, 5 000 dollars. Then it would be much easier to take back the rest of the money! Jill: I would play fair and report it to the authorities. You know why? Well, the law says I would have the right on 10 or maybe even 15% of the amount if I behaved as an honest finder.
2. What would you say if your friend asked you if you liked her dress but you thought it was horrible? Kenneth: Oh, that's a girls question. Guys would never ask a thing like that. However, if there was a really gruesome sight of mixed styles and colours, I would persuade my friend to follow me out of the event, slowly but firmly! Jill: Actually, that happened to me some time ago. I was in two minds, not knowing what to do, or say. It is always ungrateful to be Mr. Know-All and act as a police officer. We all make mistakes in clothing. I would probably say she looked O.K. and stick to that only. Maybe that would give her an idea to think about my words a bit more carefully. Donna: People know me to be blunt and honest, so I would tell my friend that she looked like a sack of potatoes, even if she felt bad after that. But I would do her a favour, I ‘m sure she would never put on the same dressing combination again!
3. What would you do if you hit a parked car in a parking lot? Kenneth: If it was just a little bump, I would drive away. What's the use of making a storm in a tea cup? Jill: I would leave a note on the car with my name and telephone number and offer to pay. I love my car very much and I always come to think how I would feel if something like that would happen to me. Donna: Well, it depends on the owner of the car. If the owner was a good-looking male, I would definitely leave him my phone number. Because of the damages, of course!
4. What would you do if you knew your best friend's husband / wife had a secret lover? Kenneth: My best friend is really one of the most important persons in my life. If someone made a fool of him like that, I wouldn't just keep aside. I would probably tell him the bad news, but trying to sound as helpful as possible. Jill: My best friend is happily married for more than 5 years, so it's difficult for me to imagine that situation. But, in any case, I would first talk to my friend's husband, to see how serious that is. Then I would think of passing that information further. Donna: My best friend is a really shrewd person, so I am convinced she would realize the deception much quicker than me. If she specifically asked for my help, I would be there for her. In any other case, I wouldn't do anything.
Kenneth: Again, a personal question. I'm close with my colleagues and I wouldn't like to lodge any information against them. If that conspicuously affected his/her work, I would try talking to him/her first. It also depends on the job he/she did. Jill: I wouldn't tell my boss only if my associate promised to deal with this dangerous problem. Donna: I am a sales director, so a lot of things depend on me and my employees. As I am an executive, I would surely be rather harsh toward that person, especially if drinking caused consequences to our work.
