HOBBIES

My family lives for hobbies. We all have one. My father started his first coin collection when he was a child and he still has it. He thinks that collecting coins is the most exciting hobby you can imagine. Some people think it’s boring, but for me it is more useful than many other more popular hobbies. You can learn many things when you collect them. This hobby was more popular in the past but my father hopes it will become more fashionable in the future.

My sister Helen’s hobby is reading books. She has a large collection of them, even larger than some small libraries. We don’t have enough space to keep them all in the house, so we keep the oldest in the cellar. Helen is smarter and more educated than most of the girls in her class, because she reads a lot. She found out many interesting things from the books.

Knitting is my Mum’s hobby. For her, it is the most relaxing activity in the world. She says there isn’t anything nicer than sitting in an armchair and knitting. She knitted all my sweaters. Most of them are better than those you can buy in the shops.

And finally, my hobby is playing the Risk. My friends and I get together to play whenever we can. It is the most intelligent game I know. You must be more careful and more skillful than your opponents to win. The best thing about this game is that you can’t play it alone, you need a company. The worst thing, of course, is losing the game. Nobody likes to lose.
